Swimming Falls in Dual Meet at Monmouth

The Big Blue swim teams traveled to Monmouth, Ill. on Friday, January 24 for a dual meet with the Scots of Monmouth College. The Big Blue fell in the women's contest 60-104 and were edged by the Scots 78-85 in the men's races.

The 200 yard medley relay team of Dawsen Loafman, Ridge Batchelor, Gavin Dobson, and Msanaa Bosland posted a time of 1:46.22 to place second in the men's race.

Aly Barnes was the victor in the women's 200 yard freestyle race in a time of 2:03.94. Kendall Rossignol placed third. Aaron Amaya was first in the men's race in a time of 1:58.35. Alexander Tabuchi placed third.

Erin Powell placed second in the women's 50 yard freestyle in 28.06. Loafman was the winner of the men's race in 22.89.

Barnes picked up another individual victory in the 100 yard freestyle race in 58.08. Bosland placed second in the men's race in 52.83.

Powell was second in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 1:06.8. Loafman picked up another individual victory in the men's race in a time of 59.21.

Dobson won the men's 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:40.43.

Rossignol placed second in the women's 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:19.14, and Amaya was second in the men's race in 1:06.61.

The relay team of Barnes, Yoanna Barajas, Powell, and Grace Meacham won the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:51.18.

The Big Blue will have a quick turnaround when they head to Naperville, Ill. for the North Central Invite on Saturday, January 25.
