Second Half Rally Lifts Millikin Women

The Millikin women used a second half rally that included a 14-0 run to start the fourth quarter to score a road win at North Central College 76-69 on January 29 in Naperville, Illinois.
 
Millikin trailed 40-29 at halftime and fell behind by 17 points (48-31) four minutes into the third quarter. The Big Blue began to fight its way back and trailing 56-51 at the end of the third quarter. Millikin went on a 14-0 run to start the fourth quarter and built a nine point advantage 65-56 with 5:32 left in the game. Millikin outscored the Cardinals 25-13 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
 
Millikin second half shooting was the difference in the game with the Big Blue making 9-13 (69 percent) from the field in the third quarter and 8-12 (67 percent) in the fourth quarter. Millikin shot 50 percent (27-54) from the field on the game and made 7-14 (50 percent) from three-point range. North Central made 28-69 (41 percent) from the field and went 3-12 from three-point range. North Central won the rebounding battle 38-36.
 
Nikkel Johnson led Millikin with a career high 24 points and seven rebounds. Senior Bella Dudley scored a career high 19 points with five rebounds. Emily Brenneisen added 15 points and Kyleigh Block added 10.
 
Biz Daley led North Central with 19 points followed by Josylin Simmons-Doxie added 14.
 
Millikin is now 7-12 overall with a 6-4 record in the College Conference of Illinois Wisconsin (CCIW). North Central falls to 7-12, 3-7.
