DECATUR, Ill. — The Millikin University men's soccer team earned an important 
3–2 win over Carroll University in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play Saturday afternoon at 
Frank M. Lindsay Field.
The Big Blue struck first in the fifth minute when 
Bryce Davis scored his fifth goal of the season off an assist from 
Landon Welch, giving Millikin early control. Carroll equalized midway through the half, but Millikin regained the advantage just before halftime when 
Kyle Grasse buried his goal in the 42nd minute, assisted by 
Eithan Shay, to send the Big Blue into the break ahead 2–1.
After the visitors tied the match early in the second half, Millikin responded again behind its attacking leader. Davis recorded his 
second goal of the day and sixth of the season in the 65th minute, once again set up by 
Welch, who finished with two assists on the afternoon.
Millikin controlled much of the match, outshooting Carroll 
15–13. 
Goalkeeper Chase Mandra anchored the defense with 
seven saves.
Following the win, Head Coach Ward praised his team's resilience and response:
"I'm so proud of these guys. We showed we can compete in the CCIW."
With the win, Millikin moves to 5
–6–1 overall and 1–2–1 in CCIW play. The Big Blue will look to carry their momentum into their next conference matchup at 
Frank M. Lindsay Field on October 15 against North Central.
