DECATUR, Ill.  — The Millikin University men's soccer team came up just short in a 3–2 loss to North Central College in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play at Frank M. Lindsay Field.

Millikin showed determination from start to finish in a competitive contest that featured goals on both sides of the half. After North Central struck first in the 30th minute, Bryce Davis quickly responded just three minutes later, scoring his  seventh goal of the season to tie the match at 1–1.

The Cardinals added two second-half goals, but Millikin continued to fight back. In the closing minutes, Ryder Ramson netted his goal in the 88th minute off an assist from Clayton Gibson, cutting the deficit to one. Despite the late surge, the Big Blue's comeback effort fell just short.

Millikin produced 14 total shots, while goalkeeper Chase Mandra turned in another strong performance, recording 13 saves between the posts.

Millikin is now 5–7–1 overall and 1–3–1 in CCIW play. The Big Blue return to action on October 18 when they travel to face Wheaton College in another conference matchup.
