Millikin Ties Wheaton

The Millikin University Women's Soccer team earned a hard-fought 1–1 tie against Wheaton College in CCIW conference play on Saturday afternoon in Wheaton, Illinois.

After a competitive first half, the Big Blue broke through in the 68th minute when Kameron Zurzolo scored her first goal of the season. The play developed after a defensive clearance found Zurzolo outside the box, where she launched a high, arcing shot from 30 yards out that sailed over the Wheaton goalkeeper and into the top left corner of the net, giving Millikin a 1–0 lead.

Millikin goalkeeper Jessica Bearley anchored the Big Blue defense with five saves, keeping the team steady throughout the match.

Wheaton later found the equalizer, and despite several strong defensive stands and late offensive pushes from Millikin, the contest ended in a 1–1 draw.
