The Millikin women's volleyball traveled to Bloomington, Ill. on Friday, October 31 with a scary task at hand — matching up with #5 Juniata. The Big Blue won the first set, dropped the next two, then finished out the match with two more set wins to down Juniata in five. 

Addison Oyer, Kyra Carothers, and Elle Richards all totaled 12 kills apiece. Delaney Higgins totaled four aces. Alyssa Frederking tallied 25 assists in the match. 

Defensively, Kyra Carothers tallied six blocks, and Kylie Ramirez recorded 16 digs. 

After winning the first set 25-20 hitting for a percentage of .286. Juniata recouped and took the next two sets 20-25 and 15-25, but the Big Blue fought back. 

Taking the next set 25-22, they went to the final set, with the Big Blue victorious 15-8. Millikin hit an impressive .303 in the fourth set. 

The fourth was neck-and-neck, with the Big Blue pulling away on a service ace by Higgins and three kills by Carothers, turning a 20-20 tie into a 25-22 victory. 

In the fifth, Millikin got off to a hot start. Kills from Carothers and Richards started off the set, then the two combined for a block to put MU up 3-0. The Big Blue closed out the set capitalizing on two Eagle errors to win 15-8. 

The Big Blue handed the Eagles just their third loss of the season. With the win, Millikin moves to 13-11 on the season. They'll meet Carthage at home on Wednesday, November 5 with the start time set for 7:00 PM.
