Football Falls at Hands of WashU at the Frank

The Big Blue football team looked to rebound after a tough loss up north to Carthage, meeting WashU on November 1, 2025 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Ill.

Millikin forced a turnover early, with Ixavion Moore recovering a fumble by Levi Moore to give the Big Blue the ball at their own 24 on WashU's opening drive.

The Big Blue came up empty, but the Bears would score on their next drive on a 20-yard touchdown connection from Moore to Drew Bomar.

Millikin answered quickly, tying the game at 7-7 on a 64-yard rushing touchdown by Re'John Zeno with 7:29 left to go in the first.

After forcing a turnover on downs, the Big Blue drove down the field, setting up a 31-yard field goal attempt from Bryson Newport that was wide left. The Bears would attempt a field goal of their own with the clock ticking down on the first half, with Matias Adrogue putting the Bears up 7-10.

The Bears put another seven on the board with 10:43 to go in the third on a three-yard rushing touchdown from Moore. They tacked on another on their next drive when Moore connected with Makael Carter for a 31-yard touchdown. With WashU leading 7-24, the Big Blue offense stalled on their next drive, then a 27-yard connection from Sylas Gomez to Matthew Thurman put the offense in business heading into the fourth quarter.
