The Millikin men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances at the 2025 CCIW Cross Country Championships.
The Big Blue men's team earned a fourth-place finish with 124 points in the 8K race. Leading the way for Millikin was Brock Richards, who placed 14th overall with a time of 25:50.2. Julio Hernandez Lopez followed in 22nd place with a time of 26:15.3, while Reece Peters and Aiden Pacunas finished back-to-back in 32nd and 33rd, clocking in at 26:47.5 and 26:47.6, respectively. Emerson Thorlton rounded out Millikin's top five, placing 35th in 26:49.4.
On the women's side, the Big Blue placed sixth overall with a team score of 109 points in the 6K race. Brooklynn Sweikar led the charge with a top-10 finish, placing 9th in 22:55.7. Teyla Wendt and Lindsey Klaus finished close behind in 20th (23:27.9) and 21st (23:28.9), respectively. Brynn Behrmann secured 28th with a time of 23:46.6, and Jillian Conlon completed Millikin's scoring in 36th place with a time of 24:02.7.
Both teams showcased depth and consistency in a highly competitive conference field at the CCIW Championships.Â
