Millikin Splits Season Opening Twin Bill

The Millikin baseball team opened the 2025 season with a trip to Conway Arkansas to face Westminster College (Mo.) and Hendrix College. On February 16, the Big Blue spilt a pair from Westminster in games played at the University of Central Arkansas.
 
In game one, Millikin won 15-4 in seven innings. Millikin scored two runs in the second and three in the third. Leading 5-1, the Big Blue broke open the game with four runs in the fourth and five in the fifth.
 
Andy Niebrugge led Millikin going 3-4. Senior Danny Lack and freshman third baseman Julian Cabanin each had two hits and three RBI. Sam Bushur had two hits and drove in two. Tyler Gade had two hits including a home run and scored three times. Liam McGill had a triple for the Big Blue.
 
Junior Zach O'Donnell was the winning pitcher in his Millikin debut throwing five innings allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out four.
 
Westminster won game two 1-0. The Bluejays scored the winning run in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly from Aden Pecka. Jack Page held Millikin scoreless on two hits for the win. Joshua Escobeda picked up the two inning save.
 
Gade and Bushur had Millikin's hits. Jack Harris pitched will in his Millikin debut throwing four and one-third innings allowing two hits. Dan Heise allowed one run over three innings. Griffin Neuweg pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings.
 
Millikin will face Hendrix College on Monday at 12 p.m.
