Millikin’s O’Donnell Named CCIW Pitcher of the Week

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between Friday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 23.
 
Hitter: Thomas Ward, Carroll, Senior (Waukesha, Wis.)
The Carroll first baseman started the 2025 season with a bang, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and a double in the Pioneers' season-opening 15-8 win over Berea on Sunday in O'Fallon, Ill.
 
The long balls were the 11th and 12th of his career. He scored twice and drove in six runs in the win.
 
Pitcher: Zach O'Donnell, Millikin, Pitcher (Atlanta, Ill., Stanford Olympia H.S.)
The Millikin southpaw earned the win in each of his first two starts of 2025, posting a 0.82 earned-run average with eight strikeouts over 11.0 innings.
 
O'Donnell won his season debut on Feb. 16, limiting Westminster to one run on three hits over 5.0 innings in the Big Blue's 15-4 win. On Sunday, he returned to the bump to fire 6.0 innings to beat Transylvania, 8-1. He struck out four, scattered five hits and didn't allow an earned run in the win.
 
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, Ill.), Carroll University (Waukesha, Wis.), Carthage College (Kenosha, Wis.), Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, Ill.), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, Ill.), Millikin University (Decatur, Ill.), North Central College (Naperville, Ill.), North Park University (Chicago, Ill.) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, Ill.).
