Swimming Falls in Final Dual Meet of 2024-25 Season

The Big Blue swim teams traveled to Jacksonville, Ill. for their final dual meet of the 2024-25 season against Illinois College. Millikin fell on the men's side 79-117 and on the women's side 77-84.

The men's team of Dawsen Loafman, Ridge Batchelor, Msanaa Bosland, and Gavin Dobson placed second in the 400 yard medley relay in a time of 3:55.65.

Aly Barnes was the first to finish in the women's 200 yard freestyle, swimming a 2:05.93, and Kendall Rossignol placed second in 2:12.37. Aaron Amaya finished second in the men's race in 1:59.98.

Erin Powell picked up a second place finish in the women's 50 yard freestyle in a time of 27.22, and Loafman finished second in the men's race in 22.78.

Alexander Tabuchi finished third in the men's 400 IM, recording a time of 5:08.75.

Barnes recorded her second victory of the day in the women's 100 yard butterfly in 1:06.06. The freshman, Dobson, finished first in the men's race in 59.57.

Grace Meacham was the second place finisher in the women's 100 yard freestyle in 1:01.66. Bosland placed second in the men's race in a time of 52.39.

Powell earned an individual victory in the women's 100 yard backstroke, and the Big Blue swept the podium with Barnes finishing second and Rossignol in third. Loafman won the men's race in a time of 57.60. Tabuchi was third.

Rossignol raced in the 500 yard freestyle, placing second in a time of 5:57.06. Bosland was second in the men's race in 5:42.61.

Powell tallied another second place finish in the 100 yard IM, and Loafman won the men's race in 57.82.

Rossignol placed second in the 100 yard breaststroke, and Abigail Pennign was third. Jacob Bloom won the men's race in 1:08.33, and Batchelor was second.

In the final women's race of the day, the Big Blue's all-senior team of Powell, Meacham, Rossignol, and Barnes won the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:51.65.

Millikin will round out their season at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships on February 19-22 in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. at the RecPlex.
