Millikin Baseball Drops Two in Debry City

The Millikin baseball team dropped a pair of games played at the Derby City Classic in Louisville, Kentucky on March 1.
 
In game one, Millikin lost to Ohio Northern in an extra inning slugfest 22-17. The Big Blue trailed 13-10 after seven innings. Millikin scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 16-13 lead, Ohio Northern answered with four runs in the top of the ninth to regain the lead at 17-16. The Big Blue sent the game to extra innings with a single run in the bottom of the ninth. The Polar Bears sealed the win with a five run 11th inning.
 
Millikin had 17 hits in the game lead by Liam McGill and Tyler Gade with three each. Sam Bushur, Andy Niebrugge, Danny Lack, Julian Cabanin and Kameron Ross each had two hits. Hayden Stork's bases clearing triple was a key hit in the six run eighth.
 
Evan Russ led Ohio Northern going 5-6 with four RBI.
 
In game two, Millikin lost to #14 Case Western Reserve 12-8. McGill, Bushur and Aiden Simmons had two hits for Millikin. Bushur and Gade each drove in three.
 
Franco Alonso lead Case Western Reserve with three hits.
