Millikin Baseball Splits Home Doubleheader

The Millikin baseball team split a doubleheader with Illinois College played on March 24 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois. Millikin won game one 2-1. Illinois College won the second game 12-3.
 
In game one, Millikin got on the board in the second inning. Andy Niebrugge led off the inning with a double and later scored on a single from Joey Niebrugge. Andy Niebrugge had Hayden Stork had two hits each for Millikin.
 
Illinois College tied the game in the third on a run scoring single from Connor Hennemann.
 
Sam Busher hit a solo home run in the fourth inning putting up Millikin 2-1.
 
Zach O'Donnell was the winning pitcher for Millikin throwing five of the seven scheduled innings allowing only two hits and one earned run while striking out three. Nolan Reiman earned his third save of the season pitching the final two innings allowing only one hit.
 
Illinois College led 3-1 after six innings and then broke open game two with three in the seventh and six in the eighth.
 
Stork had three hits for Millikin and two RBI.
 
Adam Passmore and Louie Bartletti each had three hits for Illinois College. Tyler Barker and Jon Tate each had two hits and three RBI.
 
Millikin is now 10-8 while Illinois College goes to 12-7.
 
Millikin opens College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Saturday at home hosting Carroll University.
