Millikin Baseball Scores Doubleheader Sweep at North Central

The Millikin baseball team won both games of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) doubleheader at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on April 12. The Big Blue won game one 17-7 in seven innings and took game two 11-3. Millikin pounded out 28 runs and 35 hits in the twin bill.
 
In game one the Big Blue won after seven innings by the 10-run rule. North Central led 3-2 after the first inning before Millikin broke the game open with a seven run second inning and three run third.
 
Sophomore Kolby Koslofski led Millikin going 4-5 including a double with two RBI and two runs scored. Freshman Ty Cribbett had four hits and scored three times. Bennett Comes had a grand slam. The Big Blue had 16 hits in the game.
 
Parker Wyatt led the Cardinals with two hits and three RBI. Austin Wienke had two hits and two RBI.
 
In Millikin's 11-3 win in game two, the Big Blue had 19 hits. Millikin led 2-0 after three innings. After the Cardinals tied the game a 2-2 in the fifth, Millikin pulled away with a five run seventh inning and posted three runs in the ninth to secure the win.
 
Millikin had four players collect three hits each in game two. Liam McGill had three hits scoring two and driving in two. Sam Bushur, Andy Niebrugge and Eliot Fulscher each had three hits. Tyler Gade and Cribbett each had two hits.
 
Freshman Nolan Reiman was the winning pitcher throwing five innings in relief allowing five hits and one run.
 
Kolby Fugii had three hits to lead the Cardinals.
 
Millikin improves to 14-15, 4-5 while North Central goes to 13-15, 6-4.
 
The two teams will finish the three game series on Sunday, April 13 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur at 3 p.m.
