Big Blue Edged by Titans

The Millikin baseball team lost at Illinois Wesleyan University 3-2 on April 22 in Bloomington, Illinois.
 
Millikin out hit the Titans 10-5 but could only score two runs including a ninth inning home run from Andy Niebrugge. The Big Blue had a golden scoring opportunity in the sixth. Niebrugge singled to open the inning. Tyler Gade and Ty Cribbett followed with base hits. The Big Blue scored on a double play and ended the inning one batter later.
Niebrugge ended the game with three hits. Aiden Simmons had two hits for Millikin.
 
Illinois Wesleyan scored in the first on a sacrifice fly and added two more in the runs on back-to-back sacrifice flies in the fifth.  Jack Flagg doubled in the fifth and Gage Wolfe had one of his two hits to start the rally.
 
Millikin falls to 15-18, 5-9 while the Titans improve to 20-12, 12-4.
