Big Blue Baseball Downs Augustana

The Millikin baseball team defeated Augustana College 11-3 on April 6 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois.
 
The Big Blue broke a 1-1 tie with four runs in the fifth inning with Andy Niebrugge and Tyler Gade coming up with RBI singles in the inning. Millikin added a single run in the sixth and five runs in the eighth inning. Gade finished the game with three hits and two RBI. Niebrugge had two hits on the day. Liam McGill went 4-5 at the plate with two runs scored and two runs batted in. McGill added two stolen bases.
 
Freshman Caleb Akins was the winning pitcher throwing six innings allowing six hit and two earned runs while striking out six. Nolan Reiman earned his fourth save of the season throwing three innings allowing three hits and one earned run.
 
Riley Hendren had two hits for the Vikings including a two-run home run. Charlie Bergin had two hits and an RBI.
 
Millikin improves to 12-13, 2-5 while Augustana goes to 11-10, 2-3.
