Chism Advances to NCAA Championships Finals

Millikin first-year sprinter De'Andranay Chism advanced to Saturday's finals in the Women's 200 Meters on May 22 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Chism finished ninth overall in 24.36 finishing in third in heat three. Chism had a few anxious moments following her heat as she initially appeared to finish just outside of the qualifying range. However, a disqualification by an athlete in heat three moved Chism up to the ninth allowing her to advance. Chism will compete in the 200 Meter Finals on Saturday at 2:50 p.m.

Fellow Big Blue sprinter Ibrahim Diakite competed in the first heat of the Men's 200 Meters finishing that race in sixth place in 21.60 seconds. Diakite finished in 18th place overall and failing to advance to Saturday's finals.

Millikin sophomore Kyle Hensley will compete in the Men's Pole Vault on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. Hensley entered the meet tied for the top jump in Division III this season.
