Four Big Blue Softball Players Garner CCIW All-Conference Accolades

The Big Blue softball team locked up the third seed in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament over the weekend against Elmhurst, with the tournament set to begin on Thursday, May 8. On Wednesday, the conference office announced the recipients of All-Conference honors for the 2025 season, with the Big Blue earning four selections.

Second baseman Abby Willis (Sophomore, Indianapolis, Ind.) was the first honoree on the first team, second in batting average for the Big Blue, going 42-for-112 from the plate, tallying 35 RBI to lead MU in the regular season, 16 of those coming against CCIW opponents.

The next first team honoree is outfielder Charley Condill (Sophomore, Arthur, Ill.), who finished the 2025 CCIW regular season with the fourth highest batting average in conference play, going 25-for-48 from the plate to hit .521. She led the Big Blue in batting average as the leadoff hitter in the Millikin lineup, tallying 40 stolen bases and 44 runs scored on the season.

The final first team selection is senior pitcher, Kelsey Bruno (Senior, Springfield, Ill.). Bruno tallied 111 total strikeouts on the season, tabulating a 2.53 ERA and holding opponents to a .190 batting average. She sat down 56 CCIW batters, and in conference play held opponents to a .188 average for a 6-1 record, five complete games, and three shutouts.

Big Blue shortstop Ava Zukowski (Sophomore, Palos Heights, Ill.) earned a place on the second team. Zukowski went 16-for-40 at the plate in conference play with three doubles, a triple, and seven RBI. She ranked third in batting overall for the Big Blue in the 2025 season with an average of .350. 

Senior Brynn McNeill was honored as Millikin softball's recipient of the RESPECT Award. The CCIW RESPECT award is presented at the conclusion of every sports season with each varsity program recognizing one student-athlete. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture. 

McNeill is a senior nursing major hailing from Bristol, Wis.
