Baseball Falls to Top Seed Titans in CCIW Tournament

The Millikin baseball team lost to top seeded Illinois Wesleyan 4-3 in the second round of the 2025 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Tournament on May 8 in Bloomington, Illinois.
 
The Big Blue return to action tonight at 7 p.m. vs. the loser of the Carthage College vs. North Central game being played this afternoon.
 
Illinois Wesleyan scored it the bottom of the first. Matt Hudik led off the game with a double and later scored on a Big Blue error.
 
Millikin answered with three runs in the third inning when the Big Blue played small ball.
Julian Cabanin opened the inning with a walk. Aiden Simmons and Liam McGill followed with bunt singles to load the bases. Tyler Gade then singled to tie the game at 1-1. Ty Cribbett drove in two with a single up the middle.
 
Titans took the lead in the sixth. Jack Flagg had a two run single to tie the game at 3-3. Hudik then drove in the go ahead run with a single.
 
Gade, Sam Bushur and Kolby Koslofski each had two hits for Millikin. Cabanin had a triple.
 
Millikin is 23-19 while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 27-14.
