The Millikin University Women's Soccer team put on a dominant display in their third home game of the season, shutting out Monmouth College with a 6-0 victory Tuesday evening at Frank M. Lindsay Field.
Hailie Schafman kicked things off, scoring her first goal of the season to put Millikin on the board early. Then Addison Weed doubled the lead, finishing off a clean assist from Izzy Jones.
The Big Blue came out strong again in the second half, Alanna Smith extended Millikin's lead with a goal in the 43rd minute. From there, Izzy Jones took control of the game, scoring back-to-back goals in the 59th and 64th minutes—first assisted by Weed, then by Payton Dominguez. Marissa Morris capped off the night with a goal in the 78th minute, sealing the 6-0 win.
The Big Blue are back at home this Saturday at 3:00 PM as they host Westminster College (MO) at Frank M. Lindsay Field. Come out and support Millikin as they look to keep the momentum rolling!
