In their fourth match of the season, the Millikin University Women's Soccer Team celebrated Senior Day in style with a 2-1 home victory over Westminster College on Saturday afternoon at Frank M. Lindsay Field.  

After a scoreless first half filled with midfield battles and solid defensive play, Millikin found their breakthrough in the 53rd minute. Junior forward Alanna Smith netted her third goal of the season, calmly finishing off a setup from Izzy Jones to give the Big Blue a 1-0 lead. 

The momentum continued in the 82nd minute, when sophomore Addison Weed doubled Millikin's advantage with her second goal of the season. Weed's strike came off a smooth assist from Livia Meeds, giving the Big Blue a 2-0 cushion. 

Westminster pushed late and pulled one back in the 90th minute with a goal from Emma Fontenot, but the Big Blue defense held firm to secure the win. 

The match served as a special moment for Millikin's seniors, who were recognized before kickoff for their contributions to the program. Seniors: Myka Smith, Elly Hermanson, Melis Barutcu, Hailie Schafman, Payton Dominguez, Kameron Zurzolo, Danielle Piper, Corryn Adams, Erin Fleisher, and Abbey Burkhalter. 

Millikin returns to action Wednesday at 7 p.m. away at Webster University.
