Nikkel Johnson Tabbed as CCIW All-Conference

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin released the names of the 2025-26 women's basketball all-conference teams on Monday, February 23. After her second consecutive season of leading the Big Blue's efforts in the paint, Nikkel Johnson was named to second team all-conference honors.

The sophomore exercise science major from Kankakee, Ill. led Millikin in scoring with 16.5 points per game and in rebounding with an average of 7.7 per game. In CCIW play, she totaled 16.4 pionts and 8.3 rebounds per game. She added seven blocks, 13 steals, and 14 assists to her CCIW totals.

She posted a career-high 35 points against Knox in non-conference play, then a conference high of 32 points in the Big Blue's 64-62 win over North Central in the closing weeks of the season.

Johnson finished out the season second in rebounds in the conference and led the CCIW in field goal percentage, connecting on 109-of-173 field goals to shoot for a 63% efficiency.

Last season, Johnson earned CCIW First Year Student-Athlete of the Year honors and was named to the second team.

Maggie Schrage (Breese, Ill.) was named Millikin's RESPECT Award winner. The CCIW RESPECT award is presented at the conclusion of every sports season with each varsity program recognizing one student-athlete. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
