Game OneĀ
Millikin dropped the first game of its conference opener to Wheaton College, 9–1, on Saturday.

Wheaton jumped out early with three runs in the first two innings. Millikin got on the board in the third as Leyton Ivers doubled down the right field line and later scored on a wild pitch.

Wheaton pulled away with four runs in the sixth and seventh innings and added two more in the ninth.

Caleb Akins started for the Big Blue, pitching fiveĀ innings with eight strikeouts while allowing five runs on eight hits. Nolan Reiman tossed two innings in relief, giving up four runs on five hits with one strikeout.

Game Two
In the second game the Big Blue came out hot in the first inning, putting up four runs. Carder Reich got things started with a two-RBI double to right center, scoring Pete Britton and Leyton Ivers. Sam Bushur followed with an RBI single, and Easton Steck added another RBIĀ to give Millikin early momentum. They added another run in the second, while Wheaton answered with two.

In the third, Gage Reynolds drove in a run on a groundout to make it 6-3, but Wheaton continued to chip away. Reich added a sacrifice fly in the fourth to score Britton, and despite Wheaton putting up three runs in the fifth, Millikin responded again in the sixth. Bushur delivered aĀ two-RBI double to score Ty Cribbett and Britton.

Millikin tacked on another run in the eighth before breaking things open in the ninth. Cribbett tripled down the right field line, driving in three runs to extend the lead. Wheaton added a late two-run homer, but it wasn't enough as Millikin secured the 13-9 win.

Ty Cribbett was the offensive leader of the day as he went 3-6 with a triple and two singlesĀ andĀ 3 RBI's.Ā

Matthew Brummer got the start, going five innings with seven strikeouts. Gavin Houchins followed with three innings in relief, allowing just three hits while striking out three.
