Men's Tennis Picks up Indoor Win against Lawrence

The Big Blue men's tennis team hosted the Vikings of Lawrence University on Saturday, March 7 at Bloomington Tennis and Turf in Bloomington, Ill. The Big Blue downed the Vikings in the matchup, 6-1.

Millikin swept doubles play, with Matthew Kordesh and Thomas Tartari teaming up for a win at No. 1 over Gabriel Garcia and Benjamin Hoppe, 6-4. Gillian Nahum and Jorge Aura paired up for a 6-0 win at No. 2 over Will Phillips and David Rothman. Eduardo Vargas and Harry Masterman rounded out the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 3 over Owen Horton and Will Lewis.

On the singles side, Kordesh was the victor at No. 1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1. Nahum posted a pair of 6-0 sets to take the win at No. 2. Tartari had a tough task, finding a way to win 7-6, 6-2 over Owens at No. 3. Vargas and Aura each posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 4 and No, 5, respectively, to pick up the fifth and sixth wins for the Big Blue.

Millikin will be back in action on Saturday, March 14 when they meet Illinois Valley Community College and Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill.
