Millikin Wins over Carroll

Today, Millikin faced Carroll in the first game of the series winning 1-0 in the tenth inning.

Today was Military & First Responder Appreciation Day, and the stands were packed.

Sophomore Caleb Akins started on the mound for the Big Blue, going ten innings with no runs allowed, four hits, no walks, and six strikeouts.

Not only was the pitching strong, but the defense showed up as well. Pete Britton and Gage Reynolds made great plays to keep Carroll from getting runners on base.

In the tenth Ty Cribbett walked, Carder Reich had an absolute clutch bunt to first, and Kolby Koslofski was intentionally walked, leaving Sam Bushur up. Sam Bushur then ripped a line drive to left-center to walk off the game.

Mick Niebrugge and Pete Britton each collected one hit. Carder Reich and Sam Bushur each collected two hits.

Sam Bushur was the offensive player of the game going 2-4 with one RBI.

Tomorrow, the Big Blue will face Carroll again in a doubleheader.
