Today the Big Blue celebrated their seniors Kolby Koslofski, Sam Bushur, Anthony Jerrell, Austin Maubach, Jayden McNaught, Tyler O'Neill, Karl Schwarzer, Thomas Swartz, and Blake Van Beers who have made so many contributions to this program.
Game Two
Yesterday the Big Blue won against Carroll University 1-0 in the tenth inning from a Bushur walk off. In game two today the Big Blue loss 1-0.
Making his eighth start on the mound this season for the Big Blue was Matthew Brummer going seven innings having one run, three strikeouts, six hits, and one walk.
The Pioneer's got the scoreboard started with one run in the fifth.
In the sixth the Big Blue's defense was strong as Gage Reynolds threw out a runner at second, and Kolby Koslofski had a diving catch in left field. Carder Reich also had great defense throughout the game to keep runners off the bases.
The Big Blue had eleven hits throughout the game but couldn't capitalize on scoring opportunities, which led to a 1–0 loss to Carroll.
Nolan Reiman came into pitch in the eighth allowing one hit and one strike out.
Gage Reynolds, Leyton Ivers, Anderson Decker collected one hit each. Pete Britton, Ty Cribbett, Sam Bushur, Mick Niebrugge collected two hits each
Game Three
In game three the Big Blue secured the series with a seven inning 11-1 win.
Brayden Saling started on the mound going all seven innings having six hits, one walk, one run, and four strike outs.
The Big Blue started early in the bottom of the first, jumping out to a 6–0 lead. Pete Britton reached first by putting pressure on the second baseman, forcing an error on a hard-hit ball. Ty Cribbett and Carder Reich then drew walks to load the bases. Sam Bushur drove in Britton with a hard hit up the middle, and Ty Cribbett later scored on a ground ball to the pitcher from Mick Niebrugge. Easton Steck then lined a ball to center field to plate Reich and Bushur, and Anderson Decker followed with a line drive up the middle to bring in Reynolds and Steck.
In the second, Pete Britton hit a line drive to centerfield. He was then plated by Reich off a grounder to first base, making the score 7-0.
The Pioneers got one run on the scoreboard in the fourth making it 7-1. Yet in the bottom Reich scored off a wild pitch to get back that seven run lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Gage Reynolds got things started with a oppo home run. Decker drew a walk, and Leyton Ivers reached on an error by the second baseman. Cribbett was then hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Decker scored on a wild pitch. Reich followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to score Ivers, making the score 11–1.
Carder Reich, Mick Niebrugge, Easton Steck, Anderson Decker collected one hit each. Pete Britton, Sam Bushur, and Gage Reynolds collected two hits each.
The offensive leader of the day was Sam Bushur as he went 4-7 with 1 RBI.
