Millikin Locks Up CCIW Regular Season Title

The Millikin University baseball teams secured the 2026 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season Championship with a 15-3 win over North Park University on April 26 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois.
 
The Big Blue wrapped up a share of the title with the doubleheader sweep at North Park on Saturday. Millikin completes its CCIW season with a 15-5 earning the outright title and the right to host the CCIW Tournament on May 6-8. The Big Blue will be the tournament's number one seed and will have a first round bye. Millikin's first game will be on Thursday, May 7. Most of the teams still have a week of conference action to determine the rest of the tournament field.
 
On Sunday, Millikin had a 4-3 lead in the middle of the fourth before breaking the game open with four runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and three in the sixth.  Ty Cribbett led the Millikin attack going 5-5 with a triple. He scored four runs and drove in four. Carder Riech was 4-5 with two doubles and six RBI. Mick Niebrugge had two hits and three RBI. Leyton Ivers had two hits and scored three runs.
 
Freshman Bradyn Saling improved to 9-0 on the season throwing seven innings allowing three runs while striking out 3-0.
 
Millikin had 16 hits while holding North Park to six. The Vikings committed six errors.
 
Rylan Li had a pair of runs batted in for North Park.
