Millikin Softball Splits Road Doubleheader

         The Millikin softball team split a road doubleheader at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois on March 11.  Greenville won game one 2-1 with the Big Blue taking the second game 4-0.
         Trailing 2-0, Millikin tried to rally in the seventh inning.  Alyssa Visvardis doubled and scored on a Haley Rotert RBI single, but the Big Blue rally came up short.  Visvardis was 2-3 to lead the Big Blue.  Millikin's Whitley Baker pitched well in the loss allowing only five hits in six innings of work while striking out two.
         Millikin got on the board early in game two scoring in the first inning on run scoring single by Rotert.  Justice Miller drove home a Millikin run in the six inning with a base hit.  Millikin sealed the victory in the seventh on a two-run homerun by Visvardis.  Senior Kelli Layton was 2-4 for the Big Blue.
         Cathy Lebryk improved to 3-0 on the season throwing seven innings allowing five hits and striking out two.
         Millikin is now 3-3 on the season.
