Millikin Softball Ends Florida Trip with Split

         The Millikin softball team ended its 10 game Florida trip with a split of two games played on March 25 in Clermont, Florida.  Millikin went 6-4 in Florida and is now 9-7 overall.
         In the first game of the day, Millikin defeated the University of Maine-Farmington 10-1.  Millikin got contributions throughout its lineup led by Brooke Heimerl who was 3-4 with three runs scored and one RBI.  Alyssa Visvardis was 2-4 with two doubles.  Alyssa Voegele was 2-3 with two RBIS and Amber Morgan was 2-4 and drove home two runs. 
         Whitley Baker was the winning pitcher for Millikin limiting the Beavers to four hits over six innings with 11 strikeouts.
         Millikin lost game two 5-0 to Eastern Connecticut State.  Summer Cipriani held Millikin to five hits on no runs over seven innings to led the Warriors to the win.
         Millikin will be off until April 5 with they host Rose-Hulman in the home opener at 4 p.m. at Rotary Park Field 5 in Decatur.
