Millikin Goes 1-1 in Saturday Dome Action

         The Millikin softball team had an up and down second day of the season going 1-1 at the Rochester Dome Games in Rochester, Minnesota on March 5.
         Millikin defeated St. Mary's University 5-2 in game one.  The Big Blue scored three runs in the first and added two runs in the second to secure the victory.
         All three of Millikin's runs in the first inning came after two outs.  Alyssa Voegele had an RBI single, freshman Haley Rotert drove home a run with a double and Kirsten Iversen ended the rally with an RBI single.
         Justice Miller opened the Millikin second inning with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Alexis Dockins.  Marissa Padilla drove home the Big Blue's final run.
         Rotert went 3-3 in her first collegiate start.  Iversen had two hits for the Big Blue.
         Cathy Lebryk picked up her second win of the season limiting St. Mary's to two hits seven innings.
         Brittany Berkhauser and Ashley Bezhold had a hit and an RBI for St. Mary's.  With the loss St. Mary's went to 11-3 on the season.
         In game two, Millikin lost to Hamline University 10-3.  Hamline broke open a 3-3 game with a seven run bottom of the third inning.
         Voegele had all three of Millikin's runs batted in with a run scoring single in the first and a two-run double in the third.  Alyssa Visvardis went 2-4 for the Big Blue.
         Mary-Clare Couillard led Hamline at the plate going 3-4 with two RBIs.  Jamie Rubbelke was 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
         Millikin stands at 2-2 on the season while Hamline improved to 3-1.
         Millikin is scheduled to return to action on March 11 at Greenville College.
