Millikin Softball Splits at Augustana

         The Millikin softball team spilt a conference doubleheader at Augustana College on April 17 in Rock Island, Illinois.  The Vikings took game one 9-3, but the Big Blue rallied to win game two 6-2.
         Millikin won game two by scoring three runs in the first and three in the fifth inning.  The Big Blue's Alexis Dockins opened the game with a double.  She would later score on an RBI single by Alyssa Voegele.  Lena Dyer would drive home two runs with a single to make it 3-0 Big Blue.
         Justice Miller had an RBI single in the fifth and Haley Rotert drove home two runs with a base hit.  Rotert had two hits on the game.
         Whitley Baker earned the victory for Millikin pitching all seven innings allowing two runs on eight hits.
         Ashley Anderson had two RBIs for Augustana.  Zayne Blumberg had two hits for the Vikings.
         In game one, Brooke Heimerl, Voegele and Kirsten Iversen each had two hits for Millikin.  Rotert had two RBIs and Alyssa Visvardis had one RBI.
         Brittany Kellett and Shelby Grant each had two hits for Augustana.  Ashley Anderson was the winning pitcher and went 3-4 at the plate.
         Millikin is now 13-15, 2-6 while Augustana goes to 14-18, 4-6.
