Millikin Women's Soccer Ready to Kickoff Season

        The Millikin women's soccer team has shown improvement in each of the first three season under head coach Kate McArthur. McArthur believes that the improvement will continue in 2017 with the team striving toward a winning record, competing for a CCIW title and qualifying for the conference tournament.
          McArthur knows it will take a total team effort to reach those goals and believes this year's team has the depth and talent to make that happen.
          Senior captains Meg Nowak, Courtney Olson and Anna Benvenuto will be looked to for leadership and on the field contributions. The three have been key contributors for Millikin over the last three seasons.
          On the offensive end of the pitch, sophomore Becca Kovacs and junior Taylor Hartman are expected to be major factors.
          McArthur expects contributions from the entire roster, but believes that freshman Joslynn Smith and Montana Malmen will make significant contributions to the Big Blue defensive effort.
          Millikin opens the season with three straight home games starting on September 2 against MacMurray College. The Big Blue will have a busy start to the season playing five games in the first eight days of the season.
