Millikin Men’s Tennis Wins over Cornell

          The Millikin men's tennis team defeated Cornell College 8-1 on March 4 at the Decatur Athletic Club. Millikin is now 4-1 on the season.
          Millikin won all six singles matches with the contests at the top three singles spots being very competitive. At number one singles, Jacob Palley (Oak Park, Oak Park & River Forest H.S.) won 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 10-8. Colin Sandgren (Forsyth, LSA H.S.) won at number two singles 3-6, 6-1, 10-4. The Big Blue's Connor Sacks (Schaumburg, JB Conant H.S.) won at three singles, 4-6, 6-0, 12-10. Millikin won at three through six singles in two set matches with Jacob Hamilton (Swansea, Belleville East H.S.) winning 6-3, 6-1, Greg Schwoeppe (Fishers, Ind., Hamilton Southeastern H.S.) winning 6-0, 6-0 and Logan Bennett (Marion, H.S.S) winning 6-1, 6-1.
          Cornell won at number one doubles, but Millikin took the other two doubles matches with Hamilton/Sacks winning 8-4 and Schwoeppe and Dane Pierantoni (Decatur, LSA H.S.) winning 8-1.
