Kenosha, WI – Day Two of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Individual Invitational concluded earlier today at Carthage College.
Graduate Student
Colin Klein finished in 3rd places in Flight 1 defeating Henry Ros in the 3
rd place match 6-4, 6-4. In Flight Two of singles play,
Blake Robertson would win the 5th place match 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (11-9). In Flight Five,
Matthew Kordesh would finish in 2nd place after losing to Bernado Born of Carthage College, 3-6, 7-5, 0-1 (8-10). Flight 6 would see
Eduardo Vargas win by walkover in the 3rd place match.
Paul Heuer would defeat Payton Nelson 6-2. 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) in the 7th place match of Flight 7.
In doubles play,
Colin Klein and
Nicolas Siqueira defeated Pedro Okino and Cyriac Cayuela, 8-2 in Flight 3 semifinals. The pair would follow that up with a victory in the championship match of Flight 3 with a score of 8-2 against Bernardo Born and Victor Pimenta.
Eduardo Vargas and
Paul Heuer won against the duo of Lucas Rudd and Owen Collins, 8-5 in the semifinals of flight 4. They would go on to face Fabio Gonzalez and Alvaro Adrio in the championship match where the Big Blue would emerge victorious, 8-5. Elsewhere in Doubles play,
Blake Robertson and
Elliott Taylor would win the 5th place match against David Martinez and Philipp Wottgen, 8-3.
The Men's Tennis team will be back in action on Sunday, Sept 20 at 10:00 am at College of Lake County and again at 2:00 pm at Milwaukee School of Engineering.
