Men’s Tennis Defeats Illinois Wesleyan

Box Score The Millikin Men's Tennis team defeated Illinois Wesleyan 7-2 in the opening match of CCIW play on March 23 in Bloomington, Illinois.

The Big Blue used dominating performances in singles play to take down the Titans on the road in the first conference duel of the 2019 season.

In number one singles, Jacob Palley defeated Wesleyan's Demetrios Triantafel 6-1, 7-5. At number two singles, Greg Schwoeppe took care of Wesleyan's Ryan Yoo 6-0, 6-2. Logan Bennett won at number three singles 6-4, 6-4 and Nick Laramee won at five singles 6-3, 6-2). At number six singles, Ryan Sikora defeated Cole Hundman 6-2, 6-1. In singles play, the Millikin men won a total of 11 sets, compared to just two for the Titans.

In number two doubles play, the combination of Schwoeppe and Logan Bennett downed Wesleyan's Justin Piotrowski and Hughes, 8-1. Laramee and Holden Owens to the number three double match 8-1.
