Millikin Track Opens CCIW Indoor Championships

        The Millikin men's and women's track and field team had one individual champion along with six athletes and two relay teams earn All-Conference honors on the first day of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Track and Field Championships being held February 28-29 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
        Athletes need a top eight finish in individual events or a top four relay finish to earn All-Conference honors.
        In the men's competition, Millikin's Marshun Hart was the CCIW Champion in the Long Jump at 6:86 meters (22-6.25). Caleb Bleich was tied for fourth at 6.63 meters (21-9.00).
        Kristian Boado finished in seventh in the Weight Throw in 15.37 meters (50-5.25), which was the second best throw in school history.
        Dane Alexander was eighth in the 5000 Meters in 15:29.04 breaking his own Big Blue record in the event.
        The Millikin men were fourth in the Distance Medley Relay in 10:39.19 with Austin Bicknell, Bleich, Gabe Bush and Ben Kuxmann running legs.
        In the women's completion, Brianna Niebrugge finished in fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.34 meters (17-6.25), which was the third best jump in Millikin history.
        Millikin finished in third place in the Women's Distance Medley Relay in 12:40.43. Mackenzie Dixon, Akilah Ware, Morgan Powers and Maddy Eck teamed up to turn in the third fastest time in school history.
        Anne Longman finished in eighth in the Pentathlon with 2248 points, which was third most in school history.
        After day one of competition, the Millikin men are in fourth place and the Big Blue women are in seventh.
