Millikin Women's Track Fourth at CCIW Championshops

The Millikin men's and women's track and field team competed in the 2021 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois on May 7-8. The Millikin women finished in fourth place while the Big Blue men were fifth.

This year's format based on COVID-19 protocols had the women's competition being held on Friday with the men's on Saturday. The women's pentathlon and men's decathlon will be competing over both days. Athletes were seeking top eight finishes in individual events and top four relay spots to earn All-Conference honors.

Millikin's Joey Davies dominated the Decathlon winning the event with a school record 6643 points. He finished first or second in all 10 events. Davies won the 100 Meters in 11.42 seconds, the 400 Meters in 50.65 seconds, tied for first in the High Jump in 1.79 meters, won the 1500 Meters in 4:33.61 and finished first in the Pole Vault in 4.44 meters (14-6.75). He was second in the Long Jump at 6.33 meters, the Shot Put at 11.95 meters, the 110 Hurdles in 16.37 seconds, the Discus at 33.55 meters and the Javelin at 45.14 meters. Davies' mark in the Pole Vault was fourth best all-time at Millikin.

Marshun Hart is the CCIW Champion in the Long Jump at 6.98 meters (22-10.75).

Ben Kuxmann won the 800 Meters in 1:51.90 and finished in second in the 400 Meters in 48.75 seconds, which is third fastest in school history.

Austin Bridgman finished second in the 1500 Meters in 4:00.27, which ranks fourth fastest all-time for the Big Blue. Bridgman was fifth in the 1500 Meters in 1:56.41.

Jackson Allen finished in second in the 200 Meters in 21.98 seconds and was eighth in the 100 Meters in 11.33 seconds.

Jake Shumaker finished in third in the 800 Meters in 1:55.45.

Serron Pettis finished fourth in the High Jump at 1.88 meters.

Max Rogers finished fifth in the Triple Jump in 13.38 meters.

Dalton Spencer finished in seventh in the 110 Meter Hurdles in 15.85 seconds.

Kristian Boado finished sixth in the Weight Throw in 50.03 meters and was seventh in the Discus with a toss of 42.03 meters.

Millikin was third in the 4x400 Relay in 3:24.07 with Allen, Kuxmann, Shumaker and Bridgman running legs.

In the women's Heptathlon completed on Saturday, Milikin Anne Longman finished in sixth place with 3197 points, which ranks her fourth all-time at Millikin in the event.

In Friday's women's competition, Millikin's Mackenzie Dixon won the 800 Meters in a CCIW Championships record time of 2:10.96. Pending Saturday's other competitions in NCAA Division III, Dixon currently has the second fastest time in the nation this season. Dixon's time ranks second all-time at Millikin. Millikin's Katie Risner finished in fifth in 2:21.19.

Millikin took three of the top eight spots in the Long Jump including a first place finish by Brianna Niebrugge at 5.56 meters (18-3.00) and second place finish by Brea Blackwell at 5.51 meters. Zena Roberts was eighth at 4.90 meters. Niebrugge's mark was second best in school history.

Blackwell won the Triple Jump at 11.25 meters.

Millikin won the 4x400 Relay in a school record time of 3:54.19 with Eryn Renison, Hailey Wimberly, Niebrugge and Dixon running legs.

Wimberly finished second in the 400 Meters in 57.48 seconds, which is fourth fastest in Big Blue Outdoor Track history. Niebrugge was fourth at 59.99 seconds.

Anna Gambol finished second in the Javelin with a Millikin record throw of 35.85 meters (117-7). Katie Abell finished at 32.86 meters.

Alyssa Ruiz finished in fifth in the 1500 Meters in 4:51.57, which ranks as fifth fastest on the Millikin Outdoor Track Top 10 Performance list.

Two Millikin athletes earned All-Conference honors in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with Quincy Collings finishing in sixth place at 12:10.49 and Hailey O'Malley finishing seventh at 12:15.88. Collings time was the fourth best in Millikin history and O'Malley's ranked sixth fastest all-time.

Joycelyn VanAntwerp finished in sixth place in the 10,000 Meters in 41:00.56, which was fifth fastest all-time in the event.

Alyssa Vignos finished in seventh in the 100 Meter Hurdles in 15.47 seconds and seventh in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 1:07.20. Her time in the 400 meter event was fifth best all-time for the Big Blue.

Stephanie Oliver finished in seventh the Hammer at 44.61 meters and Adriyanna Patterson was eighth at 43.84 meters.
