Millikin Track Resumes Indoor Season

The Millikin men's and women's track and field team resumed the 2021-22 season at the Bumble Rumble hosted by St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. The Millikin women finished in fourth place with with the Big Blue men coming in fifth.

In the men's competition Millikin dominated the 3000 Meters taking four of the top eight finishes. Bradyn Olmsted won the race in a time of 8:58.98. Ben Kuxmann 9:05.85 was second at 9:05.85. Gabe Bush finished in fourth place at 9:09.13. Jake Shumaker finished eighth in 9:16.65.

The Big Blue were very strong in the High Jump and Long Jump as well. In the High Jump, Millikin had four of the top eight athletes led by Serron Pettis who finished in second place at 1.91 meters (6-3.25). Solomon Ware was third at 1.86 meters followed by Peter Sailsman in fourth at the same height. Caleb Bleich was eighth at 1.76 meters.
Sailsman was second in the Long Jump at 6.69 meters (21-11.50) followed by Bleich in fourth place at 6.60 meters. Pettis finished eighth at 6.38 meters.

Max Rogers was sixth in the Triple Jump at 12.63 meters (41-5.25).

Kristian Boado had two fourth place finishes in the throws. He was fourth in the Shot Put at 14.68 meters (48-2.00) and fourth in the Weight Throw with a toss of 15.69 meters (51-5.75).

In the women's competition, senior Eryn Renison won the 400 Meters in 1:00.41.

Senior Brea Blackwell was second in the Triple Jump in 10.35 meters (33-11.50).

Katie Abell was second in the Weight Throw with a toss of 15.20 meters (49-10.50).

Millikin's 4x400 Relay Team of Renison, Mackenzie Dixon, Katie Risner and Grace Talbert finished second with a time of 4:11.50.

Freshman Itzel Garcia was third in the 200 Meters in 27.21 seconds and seventh in the 60 Meters in 8.18 seconds.

Risner was fifth in the 800 Meters in 2:29.70. Talbert was eighth in 2:31.73.

Avery Damron was sixth in the 3000 Meters in 11:29.22 followed by Elizabeth Hulick in seventh in 11:29.26.

Kayla Green finished in sixth in the High Jump at 1:45 meters (4-9.00).
