The Millikin men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a strong final day, highlighted by podium finishes, all-conference honors, and additional performances added to the program's all-time top-10 list.
Emmanuel Nwatu led the way for the Big Blue on the track, finishing second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.75 seconds. The mark earned all-conference honors and ranks third all-time in Millikin program history.
Millikin's 4x400-meter relay team of Emmett Emmons, Aaron Mohr, Jaiden Walkin, and Awstace Grauer turned in a strong performance, placing third with a time of 3:22.31 to secure a spot on the podium and all-conference recognition.
On the women's side, Hannah Sago recorded a runner-up finish in the high jump, clearing 1.59 meters. Her performance also moves her into a tie for fourth all-time in program history.
The Big Blue added several more all-conference performances across the track events. Brooklynn Sweikar earned all-conference honors in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:47.08, while Brock Richards did the same on the men's side, finishing in 4:01.57—a mark that ranks ninth all-time at Millikin.
In the 800 meters, Aaron Mohr recorded an all-conference performance with a time of 1:57.18, while Reece Butcher also earned recognition in the event with a time of 2:02.14.
Millikin's 4x100-meter relay team of Brody Roberts, Emmett Emmons, Emmanuel Nwatu, and Awstace Grauer also earned all-conference honors with a time of 42.90 seconds.
In the field events, Hunter Danberry recorded an all-conference performance in the discus with a throw of 43.90 meters.
Millikin also saw strong finishes in the combined events, with Matthew Schumacher and Jack Pearce competing in the decathlon, while Taylor Beiler and Audrey Remole represented the Big Blue in the heptathlon.
The Big Blue concluded the championships with multiple athletes earning all-conference recognition and continuing to climb the program's all-time performance lists, capping off a successful showing at the CCIW Outdoor Championships.
