Men's Tennis Downs Concordia Wisconsin, Falls to UW-Whitewater on Wisconsin Road Trip

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Big Blue men's tennis team traveled to Lake Geneva, Wis. on Saturday, February 19 for two matches against Wisconsin schools. In the first matchup of the day, Millikin fell to the Warhawks of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 0-9. Millikin claimed a 6-3 victory in their second match against the Falcons of Concordia University-Wisconsin.

Against Concordia Wisconsin, Holden Owens and Clayton Maack teamed up for the first Big Blue win, defeating Joshua Klement and Izak Roscher 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Cole Phillips and Theodor Wolf tallied another win to help put the Big Blue up 2-1 after doubles play with an 8-5 victory at No. 1 against Logan Snyder and Landon Sather.

On the singles side, Cory Erickson picked up a win at No. 5 over the Falcons' Peter Naylor in 6-3, 6-4 sets. The Falcons picked up a win in the next match to finish with Sather defeating Owens at No. 3 2-6, 0-6. Phillips was the victor in the No. 4 match with 6-0, 6-1 victories over Klement. Wolf took the win against Peters at No. 2 by a 6-0, 6-3 margin, and Maack secured the final win of the day for the Big Blue at No. 1 with 6-3, 7-5 set wins over Snyder.

The Big Blue return to the courts for their third match of the weekend against Monmouth College at the Decatur Athletic Club beginning at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 20.
