Millikin Track Fifth in Outdoor Opener

The Millikin track and field team opened up its outdoor season at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invite on March 19 in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Big Blue men finished in fifth place while the Millikin women were sixth.

In the men's competition, Peter Sailsman won the Long Jump in 6.63 meters (21-9.00) and he finished in second in the High Jump at 1.95 meters (6-04.75).

Millikin took second and third in the 1500 Meters. Jake Shumaker was second in 4:01.14 followed by Austin Bridgman in third at 4:03.71. The Big Blue's Bradon Mattsey was eighth at 4:20.74.

Caleb Bleich was second in the 400 Meters in 52.47 seconds and finished in third in the Long Jump 6.32 meters.

The Big Blue's 4x400 Relay team finished in second in 3:36.52 with Shumaker, Mattsey, Bridgman and Christian Skaggs running legs.

Kristan Boado was second in the Hammer with a toss of 45.43 meters. finished fourth in the Discus at 37.27 meters. Brandt Williamson was seventh in the Discus with a throw of 32.23 meters.

Bradyn Olmstead was fourth in the 5000 Meters in 15:32.29.

Garrett Jones finished in fourth in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase in 10:47.22 followed by Aiden Schlichting in fifth with a time of 10:57.36.

Dalton Hoadley was fifth in the 110 Meter Hurdles in 17.45 seconds.

Carson Rodgers was sixth in the 100 Meters in 11.27 seconds and sixth in the 200 Meters in 23.13 seconds. Colin Griffin was eighth in the 200 in 23.25 seconds.

Millikin won the Women's 4x400 Relay in 4:09.65 with Mackenzie Dixon,
Katie Risner, Eryn Renison and Lovenya Perry competing.

Katie Abell won the Hammer with a throw of 38.40 meters (126-00). She was sixth in the Javelin in 24.19 meters (79.04).

Renison finished in second place in the 400 Meters in 1:09.67.

Risner finished in third place in the 400 Meters in 1:02.23 followed by Perry in fourth at 1:03.14. Grace Talbert finished in seventh in 1:04.23.

Alyssa Ruiz finished third in the 800 Meters in 2:28.89.

Hailey O'Malley was third in the 1500 Meters in 5:10.78.

Anne Longman was sixth in the 100 Meter Hurdles in 18.33 seconds.
