Busy Saturday for Millikin Track

It was a busy Saturday for the Millikin men's and women's track teams with athletes competing at the Don Church Invite at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and another group running at the Meet of Champions hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois on April 23.

At the Augustana Meet of Champions, Millikin's Ben Kuxmann won the 800 Meters in 1:50.16 with Jake Shumaker finishing in third at 1:52.31, which is the fourth fastest time on Millikin's Outdoor Track Performance List. Mackenzie Dixon won the Women's 800 Meters in 2:12.93.

The Millikin women finished in fifth place at the Wheaton while the Big Blue men were seventh.

Millikin's Itzel Garcia finished third in the Women's 100 Meters in 12.41 seconds, which is the fifth fastest time in school history. Garcia was fourth in the 200 Meters in 24.93 seconds, which also ranks second on the Big Blue Outdoor Track Top 10 Performance List.

Millikin took the top two spots in the Women's 3000 Meter Steeplechase with Hailey O'Malley winning in 11:57.41 followed by Quincy Collings in second at 11:57.46, which is fourth best in school history.

Hailey Wimberly was second in the 400 Meters in 59.15 seconds followed by Lovenya Perry in third at 1:00.19.

Alyssa Ruiz finished second in the 1500 Meters in 4:54.43.

Katie Risner was third in the 800 Meters in 2:28.04. Millikin's Tessa Wiegand was sixth at 2:29.41 and Grace Talbert finished seventh at 2:29.92.

Eryn Renison was third in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 1:07.81.

Katie Abell finished in fourth in the Hammer with a toss of 42.71 meters and she was fourth in the Javelin at 33.89 meters. The throw in the Javelin was the third best in Millikin history.

Brea Blackwell was fifth in the Long Jump at 5.01 meters.

In the men's competition, the Big Blue's Austin Bridgman won the 1500 Meters in 4:03.83 with Brandon Mattsey finishing in sixth at 4:11.51.

Peter Sailsman was second in the Long Jump at 6.71 meters. Marshun Hart finished in fourth at 6.33 followed by Caleb Bleich in fifth at 6.28 meters.
Solomon Ware finished fourth in the High Jump at 1.92 meters. Sailsman was seventh at 1.77 meters.

Kristian Boada was fourth in the Hammer at 49.84 meters.

Bleich was fifth in the 400 Meters in 50.70 seconds.

Dalton Hoadley was seventh in the 110 Meter Hurdles in 17.22 seconds.

Gabe Bush was eighth in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase in 10:22.47.

Roy Baggio 39.97 finished eighth in Javelin 39.97 meters.
