Millikin's Coleman named CCIW Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin's Tanner Coleman and Carthage's Colton Klein were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Coleman, a junior pitcher from Findlay, Illinois and MacMurray College, went the distance in a 9-1 victory at Wheaton on Thursday. He pitched all nine innings, gave up one walk, one earned run in the eighth inning and six strikeouts against the Thunder to move to 4-4 on the season.

Klein, a senior outfielder from McHenry, Illinois and McHenry High School, batted .688 (11-for-16) with nine runs, three doubles, two home runs, five RBI and a 1.250 slugging percentage for the 3-1 Firebirds last week. He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in an 11-10 win over Concordia (Wis.) on April 19. Klein then went 3-for-5 with two runs, a double and an RBI in an 8-7 win over Elmhurst in the first game of an April 23 doubleheader. In Game 2, Klein went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in a 10-7 loss to the Bluejays. He finished the week by going 3-for-3 with four runs and home run in a 12-6 Victory over Elmhurst on April 24.
