Men's Tennis Competes in CCIW Invitational

Box Score The Big Blue men's tennis team traveled to Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday, September 10 for the CCIW Invitational. Due to inclement weather, the matches scheduled for Sunday, September 11 were canceled.

On the singles side, Clayton Maack won his first match 6-2, 6-1 over Cooper Ferruzzi of Carthage before falling to Ramon Vilarroig of North Central 6-1, 6-4.

In the third singles flight, Martin Carestig defeated Marco Czosnka of Carthage 6-2, 6-3 then Carroll's Ryan LaBelle 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the championship match.

RJ Miksell advanced to the championship match in the fifth singles flight. Miksell was victorious over David Eman of Carroll 6-0, 6-1 then over Arther Mendes of Augustana 6-7, 6-2, 12-10.

The third Millikin player to advance to the championship match was Cory Erickson in the seventh singles flight. Erickson defeated Josh Cortez of Illinois Wesleyan 6-3, 6-2 then Ben Marecek of Carthage in twin 6-3 sets.

In doubles, the team of Theodor Wolf and Cole Phillips won their first match against Augustana 8-4 before falling to North Central 7-8 (5).

In the second doubles flight, Maack and Cardestig defeated Carroll 8-5 before falling to North Central in their second matchup.

The team of Rodrigo Laux and Miksell defeated Augustana 8-6 in their first matchup, then fell to Carthage 4-8.
