Women’s Golf Sixth at Dechert Classic

The Millikin women's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of its own Dechert Classic being played on Sept. 23-24 at the South Side Country Club.

The tournament honors former Millikin Head Women's Golf Coach the late Marilyn Dechert and her husband and longtime assistant coach Dick. While Marilyn was certainly missed at this year's event, it was great to have Dick join us for Friday's first round.

The Big Blue shot a team score of 352. Illinois Wesleyan is the round one leader at 307.

Millikin's top player is Taylor Chase who is tied for 12th at 85. Claire Rendleman is tied for 20th at 87. Illinois Wesleyan's Emma Thorman is the round one leader at even par 72.
