Millikin Track Opens Indoor Season

The Millikin men's and women's track and field team got an early start on the Indoor Season with a strong showing at the Illinois Wesleyan First Chance Meet on December 9 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
 
The Big Blue posted six event wins and set two new school records. Several athletes put their marks on the Millikin Indoor Track Top 10 Performance List.
 
In the men's competition, sophomore Kemper Kosloski won the 200 Meters in 22.76 seconds.
 
Jake Shumaker won the 1 Mile Run in 4:20.70, which is third fastest time in school history.
 
Julio Hernandez Lopez won the 3000 Meters in 9:04.48.
 
Emmanuel Nwatu won the 60 Meter Hurdles in 8.66 meters.
 
Dayton Lasack finished in second place in the 300 Meters in a Big Blue record time of 35.47. Colin Griffin was third in 35.48, which is second fastest in school history.
 
Kyle Hensley was second in the Pole Vault setting a new Millikin record at 4.80 meters (15-9.00).
 
Marcus Holman was second in the 600 Meters in 1:30.45.
 
Thomas Hills was second in the Long Jump in 6.71 meters (22-00.25).
 
In the women's events, sophomore Hailey Newill won the Pole Vault with a jump of 3.20 meters (10-6.00). It was Millikin's second all-time Indoor performance in the event. Haylee Yelle was second at 3.05 meters.
 
Itzel Garcia won the Long Jump at 5.27 meters (17-3.50).
 
Millikin women took second in the 4x400 Relay in 4:22.80 with Garcia, Audrey Remole, Ashlyn Duncan and Krista Koke running legs.
