Snyder Promoted to Full-Time Assist For Millikin Men’s Basketball

DECATUR, Illinois—Millikin University Head Men's Basketball Coach Kramer Soderberg announces that Mack Snyder has been promoted to full-time assistant coach for the Big Blue program.
         
Macklin SnyderSnyder has served as a graduate assistant coach for the Big Blue program since 2021. Snyder replaces Dorian Hobbs, who left to become the new head coach at Culver Stockton.

For the last two seasons, Snyder was a member of the Millikin staff that turned around the Big Blue men's program. In 2021-22, Millikin went 14-12 overall and qualified for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Conference tournament for the first time in program history. In the last two seasons, the Millikin men's basketball program saw a 33 percent increase in winning precent under Soderberg and his staff. Snyder has been involved in recruiting and player development. He has been the lead recruit on several prospects from southern and central Illinois. Snyder developed the Big Blue's current weight training off-season program and coached the Millikin JV team for the last two seasons. During the summer, Snyder coached with MidPro Academy, one of the premier AAU programs in the country.

"I'm thrilled to have Mack become a full-time member of my staff," said Soderberg. "He's played a huge role in our growth in my first two years as head coach at Millikin. He brings a knowledge and a passion that is contagious. Mack will continue to be a vital asset to our program as we try to help our young men become the best players, students and people they can be. I'm looking forward to seeing Mack continue to grow and develop as a coach!"
Snyder was a manager for the University of Illinois men's basketball program from 2018-20. He was involved with individual workouts, team practices, and travel, while  helping with other daily operations. In 2020-21, Snyder served as an assistant coach for Tuscola High School where is primary focus was opponent scouts.

Snyder graduated from the University of Illinois in May 2021 with a degree in Communications.

Soderberg and Snyder will be joined on the 2022-23 by Tom Noonan who returns for his third season as an assistant coach with the Big Blue.
