Shumaker Advances to 800 Meter Finals

Millikin University senior Jake Shumaker (Decatur, Mt. Zion H.S.) ran the fifth fastest time in the 800 Meter Prelims on Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Mrytle Beach, South Carolina. Shumaker advances to the 800 Meter Finals on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT.

Shumaker had the third fastest time in the second heat coming in fifth quickest overall at 1:51.63.

Michael Olson of Plymouth State led the field at 1:51.11. Braedon Giles of Wisconsin-Stevens Point was second at 1:51.20 followed by Joe Franke of Loras (1:51.21) and Cael Schoemann of Wisconsin-La Crosse (1:51.45).
