Millikin Track Strong at I-55 Meet

The Millikin men's and women's track teams turned in a strong performance at the I-55 Meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Jan. 18 in Bloomington, Illinois. No team scores were reported.
 
Millikin won seven events in the men's competition with two second place finishes
 
The Big Blue Colin Griffin was a double event winner finishing in first in the 60 Meters in 7.05 seconds and the 200 Meters in 22.69 seconds. Jayvon Irwin finished third in the 60 Meters in 7.09 seconds.
 
Nolan Bates won the 800 Meters in 1:57.19.
 
Bradyn Olmstead won the 1 Mile Run in 4:28.16.
 
Millikin won the 4x400 Relay in 3:27.68 with Lasack, Griffin, Emmett Emmons and Awstace Grauer competing.
 
The Big Blue took the top two spots in the 60 Meter Hurdles with Emmanuel Nwatu winning in 8.63 seconds and Dayton Lasack finishing in second in 8.97 seconds.
 
Kyle Hensley won the Pole Vault in 4.90 Meters.
 
Hunter Danberry finished in second in the Weight Throw with a toss of 15.55 meters (16-1), which is fourth best in Millikin history.
 
In the women's competition, De'Andranay Chism won the 200 Meters in 24.80 seconds and finished second in the 60 Meters in 7.73 seconds.
 
Brooklynn Sweikar finished second in the 800 Meters in 2:23.34. Kierra Marshall was fourth in 2:37.21.
 
Emma Mallory was second in the 1 Mile Run in 5:43.43.
 
Teyla Wendt finished third in the 1200 Meters in a school record time of 4:03.37.
Millikin was second in the 4x400 Relay in 4:12.48 with Alayna Schultz, Sweikar, Ashlyn Duncan and Chism competing.
 
The Big Blue took the top two spots in the Pole Vault with Haylee Yelle finishing in first and Hailey Newill coming in second place both clearing 3.10 meters.
 
Hannah Sago finished second in the High Jump in 1.58 meters (5-2.25), which ties her for second best all-time on the Millikin Indoor Track Performance list.
