The Millikin University cross country teams turned in strong performances at the Bradley Pink Classic. Competing against a deep field of regional and national competition, both the men's and women's squads earned top-10 team finishes.
The Millikin women placed eighth in the 6K race with a score of 308 points. Brooklynn Sweikar led the Big Blue with a time of 23:25.9, finishing 43rd overall. Brynn Behrmann had a strong run of 24:06.02, while Teyla Wendt clocked 24:17.9 to round out Millikin's top three finishers.
On the men's side, the Big Blue placed sixth overall in the 8K race with a score of 143 points. Reece Peters paced the Millikin men with a 31st-place finish and a time of 26:11.4. Julio Hernandez Lopez finished close behind in 35th at 26:20.8, while Emerson Thorlton added a solid performance, finishing 44th in 26:47.0.
Both squads will look to build on their performances at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships on November 1.
